It’s the most likely car that old to be seen in dd use, and for plenty of good reasons. I don’t really know if this Dart sedan is a daily driver, but it sure could be. Here are facts.Shot and posted at the Cohort by Constantine Hannaher ![]() AND THEY ARE RIGHT it's threads like that that support that ideology and mindset of opinion, opinion & opinion. Member's have PM'd me multiples times about how there is more "opinions" & not enough facts or knowledge out there. I would love a nice healthy discussion about our engines, and not just opinions. I wish the vendors would come around on this gens Dart's. I'd love it if they could make a Green Aero, (get it?!?!) I'd love for the 1.4t to have a bigger turbo, I'd love for the 2.0 & 2.4 to get turbos or superchargers. Yes, I'll be the first to admit I'm guilty of it, but I love all Darts, y'all might not think that I do, but I do. 2.4 threads always turn around to this, " mine is faster than yours no matter what you say" or "the *insert 1.4t, 2.0 or 2.4 engine here* is the better engine than the *insert 1.4t, 2.0 or 2.4 engine here* because *insert reason here* type thing, the *insert 1.4t, 2.0 or 2.4 engine here* with mods can beat a stock *insert 1.4t, 2.0 or 2.4 engine here* type thing. * if anyone is reading this don't faint, it is happening*) (Shocking isn't it? An actual debate and discussion about a modification on a Dart. We can't just let by-gones be by-gones and just have a nice ol' debate like we are having here. It's sickening, its like people are over-compensating for the size of their appendage anymore. and no matter what the 2.4 isn't fast enough. It always turns around to being argumentative, the 1.4t beats everything, the 2.0 is slow and a joke. No-one can have a good conversation about our Dart's anymore no matter what. We need more facts and less opinions, because. stock 2.0 is a dog, it's been beatin' to death time and time a again, day in and day out that the 2.0 is referred as 2.Slow (I do it as well), we get it, its time to move on from the "hate". I would bet the average driver would find the 6-cylinder to be their preferred ride because the power is linear, like 99.9% of vehicles on the road.Ĭlick to expand.Understood, but I wasn't arguing (or arguing at all) about a 2.0 beating a 1.4t "stock v. That does not mean the turbo model is not more powerful, it just has to wind up a couple seconds before the torque rush hits. However, the instantaneous power of the VR6 would allow it to get the jump on the turbo in many circumstances. The turbo model with just a tune would eat my modded (exhaust) 6-cylinder Jetta alive, even though the VR6 came with 20 more hp from the factory. ![]() 200 hp VR6) I own is applicable here I think. My experience with the two MKIV VW's (180 hp 1.8T vs. Anybody who is thinking of buying the normally-aspirated version of a car to make it faster than a modded turbo version needs to spend some time studying how turbocharged engines react to mods. Modding will always favor the turbo in the end, however. That doesn't mean one engine is better than the other in every circumstance. The lag you get from a turbo, more so with my experiences of this stock 1.4T compared to my Jetta 1.8T when it was stock, enables a 2.4 to take the 1.4T under some circumstances. Until there is definitive proof otherwise, I think it is safe to assume a modded turbo will beat the modded 2.4.
